The path to accreditation

1. 2023

   The organization joined Accreditation Canada’s Qmentum International programme and began preparing with support from the local team.

2. June 2024

   The first patient council meeting took place, bringing patients and community members into quality improvement.

3. February 2025

   Accreditation Canada awarded the organization Qmentum International Platinum accreditation.

What preparation involved

For every organization, preparation under Qmentum International includes a self-assessment against the standards, implementing the Required Organizational Practices (patient identification, medication reconciliation, infection control, incident management), staff training and patient engagement. The local team supported this process in Georgian.

• A patient council that regularly reviews patient feedback.
• Georgian-language information materials for patients.

Outcome

In February 2025 the organization achieved Accreditation Canada Platinum accreditation and is listed in Accreditation Canada’s international register together with eight other Georgian organizations. Register
