Georgia features in Accreditation Canada’s plans for 2024

In its outlook for 2024, Accreditation Canada and the Health Standards Organization (HSO) named Georgia, alongside Morocco and the Caribbean, as a country where they continue to build the foundations for national quality-improvement work.

The main directions of the outlook:

• patient and workforce safety, in line with the World Health Organization’s Global Patient Safety Action Plan;
• programs active in more than 40 countries, with more than 1,000 client organizations assessed in 2024;
• the launch of the Qmentum Global program, with updated standards, self-assessment tools and short-notice on-site visits that build a culture of everyday quality;
• the HSO Global Workforce Survey for every client, to assess staff wellbeing and competence;
• integrating mental health and climate change into standards and programs.

In Georgia, this plan came to fruition in February 2025, when nine organizations received Accreditation Canada accreditation.
