Urgent unpopular strict measures must be implemented: Dr Giorgi Pkhakadze

Healthcare Advisor to the UN Secretary-General Dr Giorgi Pkhakadze says that Georgia will stabilize the epidemiological situation only if strict measures are taken.

“Urgent unpopular strict measures must be implemented. I assume that the number of COVID-19 patients is higher than the statistical data show,” Dr Pkhakadze said.

Georgia recorded 3,958 cases in the past 24 hours to bring the total tally to 108,690. A total of 3,531 patients have recovered, with their number increasing to 89,170.

The country has registered 1,012 deaths (36 recent).
