Public Health Expert and Healthcare Advisor to the UN Secretary-General Dr Giorgi Pkhakadze says that Georgia most likely will not get the coronavirus vaccine in spring.
In Dr Pkhakadze's words, vaccines first become available for the rich, and when rich countries vaccinate their people, they give some to the poor. However, according to Pkhakadze, if a country is poor, it does not mean the country will not get the vaccine, as the WHO tried to make it available for all.
"I do not think that Georgia will get the vaccine in spring. I highly doubt this, as rich countries must buy it first and give some to the poor afterward. This does anger me a lot," Dr Pkhakadze declared.
